To copy an icon to a folder, file, or application,

1) select one of the icons (Captain Haddock, for example) and get info (Command + I).
2) Click on the icon in the Get Info dialogue and copy.
3) Find the file, folder, or application you want to apply the icon to and select it, then Get Info and paste. It's A LOT simpler than it sounds.
